physiological function | knockout of GalNAc-T13 in P19 cells suppresses not only neural induction but also neuronal differentiation. The effects are at least partly mediated by the mucin-type O-glycoprotein podoplanin. Knockdown of podoplanin leads to a similar inhibition of neuronal differentiation and podoplanin is significantly reduced at the posttranscriptional level after GalNAc-T13 knockout. Podoplanin acts as a substrate of GalNAc-T13 and the ppGalNAc-T13-mediated O-glycosylation on podoplanin is important for its stability | Mus musculus |
